A pounding is an old fashioned tradition celebrated in many churches where a new employee who has moved from out of state is welcomed to the community with gifts of food. Traditionally, a pounding would provide the employee and their family with a pound of staples, such as a pound of flour, a pound of sugar, a pound of butter and a pound of other basic items.

We will begin collecting items at the church for David and Brandie the week after they've arrived (April 25th-29th).
